Colposcopy – HPV

HPV

It is a simple and non-Invasive examination similar to the gynecological one, where the gynecologist observes the cervix using a special machine named colposcope. During the examination, the doctor is likely to get issue for biopsy.

When is the examination performed?

After an abnormal Pap test
If there are visible damages to the cervix
When atypia of squamous cells or HPV infection have been diagnosed.

Depending on the problem to be verified by colposcopy and/or biopsy, the appropriate treatment will be recommended. This may be simple surveillance with or without colposcopy and cautery-sublimation with laser or pineal ablation of the cervix.
